How To Make Blueberry & Soft Cheese Babka

- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 2 tsp active dry yeast
- 1/2 cup warm milk
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 2 eggs
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 cup blueberries
- 1/2 cup soft cheese (such as cream cheese or ricotta)
Instructions

In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, sugar, salt, and yeast.

In a separate small bowl, mix together the warm milk, melted butter, eggs, and vanilla extract.

Gradually pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and mix until a dough forms.

Knead the dough on a lightly floured surface for about 5 minutes, until it becomes smooth and elastic.

Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a kitchen towel, and let it rise in a warm place for 1 hour, or until doubled in size.

Preheat the oven to 350°F (180°C) and grease a loaf pan.

Punch down the dough and roll it out into a rectangle on a lightly floured surface.

Spread the soft cheese evenly over the dough, leaving a small border around the edges.

Sprinkle the blueberries over the soft cheese.

Starting from one long side, tightly roll the dough into a log shape.

Carefully transfer the log into the greased loaf pan, tucking the ends underneath.

Cover the pan with a kitchen towel and let the babka rise for an additional 30 minutes.
