Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup soy sauce
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup hoisin sauce
  • 1/4 cup rice vinegar
  • 2 tbsp sesame oil
  • 1 tbsp ginger, grated
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 tsp red pepper flakes
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch
  • 2 tbsp water

Instructions

  1. In a small saucepan, combine soy sauce, brown sugar, hoisin sauce, rice vinegar, sesame oil, ginger, garlic, and red pepper flakes over medium heat.

  2. Bring to a simmer and cook for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.

  3. In a small bowl, mix cornstarch and water until smooth.

  4. Add the cornstarch mixture to the sauce and stir until thickened, about 2-3 minutes.

  5. Serve with grilled meats or veggies.
