How To Make Spicy Chipotle-Lime Hummus

This hummus recipe is a fun way to prepare a traditional dip! It’s made tangy and spicy with lime, chipotle, and hearty seasonings for a tastier dip.

Ingredients

  • 15ozchick peas,(1 can), drained and liquid reserved
  • 2tbsplime juice,fresh
  • 2tbspolive oil
  • 1tbsptahini
  • 1tbspadobo sauce,(from a can of chipotle chilies in adobo)
  • 2garlic cloves,quartered
  • 1tbspchipotle chilies in adobo,minced
  • ½tspground cumin
  • ¼tspground coriander
  • ¼tsppaprika
  • ¼tspsalt,or to taste
  • 1tbspcilantro,chopped, for garnish

Instructions

  1. To a food processor, add 3 tablespoons of the reserved liquid from the chickpea can, lime juice, olive oil, tahini, adobo sauce and garlic.

  2. Then add the chickpeas, chipotle chilies, cumin, coriander, paprika, and salt.

  3. Cover using a lid with paddles, then process, while rotating lid counter-clockwise, and adding an additional 1 tablespoon liquid as needed, until hummus is smooth.

  4. Plate and top with more olive oil, adobo sauce and chipotle chilies, if desired, then sprinkle with cilantro.

  5. Serve with pita chips, tortilla chips or veggies. Enjoy!
