Method

  1. In a large glass pitcher, add your fresh raspberries and the slices of lemon and lime.

  2. Pour the raspberry vodka over the fruit and use a wooden spoon to very lightly press down on a few of the berries to release their juices without turning them into mush.

  3. Pour in the chilled bottle of Moscato and give it a gentle stir to incorporate the vodka and fruit flavors.

  4. Cover the pitcher and refrigerate for at least 2 hours to allow the fruit to infuse the wine.

  5. Just before you are ready to serve, pour in the chilled lemon-lime soda for that signature fizz.

  6. Pour into ice-filled glasses, ensuring everyone gets a few pieces of booze-soaked fruit, and garnish with a sprig of fresh mint.

Notes

Freeze half of your raspberries before starting; they act like flavorful ice cubes that won't water down your sangria.

If you find the drink too sweet, swap the lemon-lime soda for a plain club soda or sparkling mineral water.

For a deeper color, use a Pink Moscato which adds a lovely rose hue to the pitcher.

Don't skip the refrigeration time; the flavors really need that hour or two to marry properly.

Questions

Can I make this sangria a day in advance?
Yes! You can prep the wine, vodka, and fruit up to 24 hours ahead of time. Just wait to add the soda and ice until the very last second so it stays bubbly.
What if I can't find raspberry vodka?
No problem. You can use plain vodka and perhaps a splash of raspberry liqueur (like Chambord), or just use extra fresh berries and a bit more wine.
Should I use frozen or fresh raspberries?
Both work! Fresh raspberries look prettier and hold their shape better, but frozen berries are great for keeping the pitcher cold on a hot day.
Is this drink very high in alcohol?
Moscato is naturally lower in alcohol than other wines, but the addition of vodka gives it a bit of a kick. Drink responsibly!
